Anne Burrell

Anne W. Burrell has been a chef, television presenter in the US as well as an instructor at the Institute of Culinary Education. Burrell hosts The Food Network show Secrets of a Restaurant Chef and co-host of Worst Cooks in America. Anne Burrell's Food Network show Secrets of a Restaurant chef is a hit with her signature spiky blond locks and pumped up personality, provides the basics of cooking that any person can master. Chef Burrell has also worked at several of the most prestigious restaurants located in New York, studied the culinary landscape and traditions of Italy as well as competed on the Food Network's Iron Chef America. Growing up in the Upstate New York area, Chef Burrell discovered a love for cooking and food at a young age. The Culinary Institute of America was the next stage for her after she graduated with an Associate of Arts degree in English and Communications in the fall of 2004 from Canisius College Buffalo NY. The Culinary Institute of America was where I had the most enjoyable time of my life. It was impossible to learn and do enough or put in the hours. After graduation, Burrell spent one year studying in the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners and worked in Umbria's La Taverna del Lupo as and Tuscany's La Bottega del 30, which is a Michelin-starred establishment. In Italy, Chef Burrell gained an appreciation and understanding of Italian food. This had an enormous effect on the way she thinks about food. Burrell is a member of the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board that brightens up the lives of children who are struggling. Burrell is also a Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation's Celebrity Advocate where she raises awareness about young diabetics. As a guest speaker and mentor she travels across the United States to discuss her love for cooking and career. Through her culinary adventures, Anne has always said I feel so lucky to be able to share my passion in life with others.
