Sarah Chalke
Sarah Chalke was conceived in Ottawa,
Ontario, Canada, 27 August 1976. Angie Chalke is her mother and Doug Chalke are
her father. Sarah is the middle of two siblings: one older, Natasha Chalke, one
younger, Piper Chalke. Sarah made her acting debut with City Boy (1992), the
first television-produced film made by TV. After her first movie she auditioned
for the role of Becky on Roseanne (1988) in 1993. Following the time that
Alicia Goranson left the show to go to college the show was in search for someone
to replace her. Sarah graduated from highschool in 1995, and was involved in
the production of Roseanne (1988) from 1994 to 1995. Sarah also starred with
Jim Varney (1994) in Ernest Goes to School (1994). Sarah was also in Robin of
Locksley (1996) and Stand against Fear(1996). In these films she played the
character of Krista Wilson who was the cheerleader. Sarah was also invited to
star in a television series called Nothing Too Good for a Cowboy (1998) which
was a year after Roseanne (1988). Based on Nothing Too Good for a Cowboy
(2000), Sarah also played a role in the show. She took over Becky's (1988) role
from Alicia Goranson. She said she wanted to stop acting and go to college.
[2001] (1993-1997) She was Sara Gilbert's older sister in the show Roseanne
(1988) however, she's a lot younger in real life. Participated in 1999 CCMA
Awards ceremony, and received the award for the top single. (September, 1999)
Appeared on local Vancouver performances of the theater, at age eight. Fluent
in French as well as German. She works at hospices that provide care to sick
children who are terminally ill. Chalke likes to cook with her friends
(especially Thai or sushi) and plays guitar as well as ski, hike (she's an
instructor) and kayaking. Her father is an attorney, and both parents operate
an adoption agency for children. Two years ago she went with her parents to
China to coordinate the adoption of orphans in China.
