Rosamund Pike

Born in London, England in 1979, Rosamund Mary Elizabeth Pike was the sole child of Caroline (Friend) (Friend), the classical violinist's mother and Julian Pike, an opera singer father. Her parents worked hard and she travelled extensively throughout Europe during her childhood. Pike went to Bristol's Badminton School and started acting at the National Youth Theatre. Pike first appeared in the National Youth Theatre production "Romeo and Juliet". She was then signed by an agent after she was discovered. Pike also began acting at the National Youth Theatre. While her debut film was a high-budget action film, her performance was mostly in smaller independent movies like Promised Land (2004) and The Libertine (2004). She won the Best Supporting Actress Award at The British Independent Film Awards for this film. Pride & Prejudice (2005) was her first feature film. A brief venture into Hollywood film was followed by the action film, Doom (2005), and the thriller, Fracture (2007) However, she made a return to smaller films featuring outstanding performance in three movies: An Education (2009), Dagenham (2010), and An Education. Dagenham (2010) as well as the lead role alongside Paul Giamatti in Barney's Version (2010).As she continued her acting career in England, Pike appeared in the spy spoof, Johnny English Reborn (2011) and also played the role as "Andromeda" in the sci-fi epic Wrath of the Titans (2012). With Tom Cruise as her female role in Jack Reacher (2012), she returned to action films.
