Julia Ormond Bio

Julia's rise was an important turning moment in her professional career. Julia was later seen in a myriad of independent and foreign films made in the region. She played the title role in the Danish/German/Swedish co-production Smilla's Sense of Snow (1997) as a woman who gets involved with a strange murder mystery; the Russian period drama The Barber of Siberia (1998) as a lovely American who gets dangerously involved with a young Russian cadet; and involved herself in another messy affair with Vince Vaughn in the indie drama The Prime Gig (2000). The actress was also participant in David Hare's play "My Zinc Bed," which brought her an Olivier Award nomination in 2001 for "Best Actress." Julia was a film maker through the millennium. She was in Resistance (2003) as well as David Lynch's political thriller (2006), The Curious Case of Benjamin Button (2008) and Albatross (2011). Julia was a regular on the mini-series on TV Beach Girls (2005) and was also in Law & Order: Criminal Intent (2009), Nurse Jackie (2009) Law & Order: Criminal Intent (2007), Mad Men (2007), Gold Digger (2017) and the series that starred as Vivien Leigh in Witches of East End (2013). Incorporated (2016) was also an episodic show that lasted only a few episodes where she was the main character.
