Alexa Davalos Bio

Alexa Davalos Dunas (born May 28, 1982) is an American actress. Her initial part as Gwen Raiden on the fourth season of the TV series Angel (2002-03) was followed by a number of Hollywood films, like The Chronicles of Riddick (2004), Feast of Love (2007), The Mist (2007), Defiance (2008) and Clash of the Titans (2010). She was also a part of the TV series Reunion (2005-06) and also in Frank Darabont's Mob City (2013). She was the main character in the Amazon Studios series The Man in the High Castle (2015-1999). Davalos was born in France to American parents, photographer Jeff Dunas and actress Elyssa Davalos, daughter of actor Richard Davalos. Davalos spent the majority of her growing up in France and Italy before making her way to New York. Davalos has said that she curses more in French than in English. Her mother's side is where she comes from she has Finnish and Spanish descent. Her name as a family member would have been spelled "Davalos" in Spanish with an accent on "a". Her father's family is Jewish (her paternal ancestors resided in Vilnius in Lithuania). While she was not raised with much faith however, she did go to Hebrew school for a time. Davalos moved to New York City on her on her own when she reached the age of 17 years old. Davalos made a living by modeling for Peter Lindbergh photographers. She says, "I had a purpose." "I wanted to be on the streets doing what I wanted to do. After working in a theatre It became apparent that I was destined to become an actor. It was then that my passion turned to acting, and she attended the Off-Broadway Flea Theater in New York
